Im not trying to give anyone a hard time its just people claim I know a guy this happened too and spread the stories. Most folks with problems don't want to admit water or def in fuel. I know our local Ford dealer has had two pump problems. One water in fuel and one failed pump, failed pump was covered.
From reading everyones posts online it appears very common for Ford to try this very tactic to void warranty and make people pay out of pocket.
Keep in mind I created this post and did much research and have driven both as well. There is much documentation online of these pumps causing failures to both GM and Ford, but GM was warrantying the trucks while Ford was not. Dodge uses a different pump so they did not have these failures.
