Back from our first time out with tc pop up

So, I started loading the tc on Friday trying to beat the rain. I got most but not all. UGH Poor dh had to load the 4 wheelers in the pouring down rain. We almost cancelled the trip. But our friends said they were still going. So, glad we did go! On Saturday the weather was perfect!

Good news is the tc didn't leak while not popped up until we starting driving. Bad news it did leak some after popped up. So, we have a little tinkering to do.

I loved having a microwave!! I bought frozen biscuits with the cheese, egg and sausage in them. So, much better than having donuts every morning. I did get the little cheap microwave one from walmart but have to take it back. It was getting hot and I had to double the time for every thing.

Loved being able to charge my phone.

Loved being able to use my hair dryer.

Loved having a toilet!

Dh loved having the coffee maker.

Loved having a/c.

Loved having the heater the second night!

Did not like climbing up in that bed! I'm 44 dh is 46. I told him we could probably only do that for a couple more years. lol

Did not like how small it was.

Did not like that there is hardly any storage space.

And we HATE the manual jacks! lol

Popping it in and out wasn't that big of a deal.

I did get a couple of pictures. But, I don't know how to load them on here and I'm tired right now. I will try to figure it out tomorrow.

  • Popups have a bit more of a step than big ol' basement campers. It's mor elike a climb than a step. You have to pee before going to bed, maybe rig up a step of some sort. It gets really tricky when you have the sleeping dog filling the aisle right where you land. Makes it fun! And it's not a tent, right?

You'll have more space if you get rid of silly things like microwaves and hair dryers and DHs...just kidding!

The manual jacks issue can be solved with a good cordless drill and appropriate socket. I hated cranking those things also.

I remember people talking about this in the tt section. I told dh we had to get a bit. He has a drill.

Yep, a socket and cordless drill for the manual jacks was one thing I loved! (I fabbed up my jack socket but you could buy one as well. Worth every penny)

We're 63 and 62 and that's one of the things we like most :B
  • I LOVE your list! I see a big rig in the future with all your DON"T Like items. :W

DH and I have talked about getting a popup in addition to our fifth wheel for those back wood trips where the fiver wouldn't fit.
