I have mine adjusted so I can see about 18-inches from the back of my TC. I could get closer, but I also want good vision some distance behind my TC. I can see my Samurai when towing, and traffic coming up behind me. It is great for vision when changing lanes. It works day or night, very clear. One wire (behind ladder) from camera to cab of truck. It is mounted just above the door, below the clearance lights.
