Banks systems

Has anyone installed any of the Banks or similiar products and if so, did they provide any measurable torque for steep grades or any improvement in gas mileage?

  • I installed the Banks "Git Kit" on my 2000 F250 7.3 diesel, along with the EB. It consisted of the larger intake and exhaust, the high performance turbo wheel, the wastegate actuator, the performance chip, the tranny chip, the high flow muffler and a turbo saver from a different company. I installed most of it myself, some I had done at a shop. I would recommend having the turbo wheel installed at a shop, but you may be handier and more confident than I am. The connection from the EB to the exhaust pipe was a MAJOR pita but doable. It made a huge difference in hp, torque and overall performance. Turbo lag was almost gone. It had less lag than my 2012 Cummins. MPG increase by about 1.5-2, depending on circumstances. The real difference was on long grades and quick acceleration. It no longer felt as if it was restricted and struggling and didn't blow nearly as much smoke as it did before. If you install it in pieces, it doesn't hurt as bad, and I found the sales team very knowledgeable and helpful. All in all, I found it to be a very good investment.

Not a lot of information to go on here!!!:h

What are you looking at installing it on?

What are you looking at installing?

What are you hoping to get out of it, power wise?

    X2

Gas or diesel? (It makes a huge difference)

What kind of kit? Cold air? Exhaust? Tuner? All 3?
  • I have the Banks PowerPack on my V10. The power gains were great. Fuel economy gains won't happen unless you drove the same speeds you drive before the upgrade, but what's the fun in that?
