Battery and slide out

Hi, I brought my TT in for some various repairs with one being that the slide out does not operate on battery power. The repair shopped called and said it was because the battery was dead. Could that be true even if the rest of the TT is powered by the battery? Or might the battery be weak so that the lights work but not the slideout?

Thanks

  • Thanks everyone. It is not an old battery (maybe two years). I kept it inside trickling in the winter but I guess to no avail.
    Thanks for the confirmation.
  • Slide motors can draw a lot of amps and so it could fail to operate while the lights seem OK due to a "dead" battery.

Recommend using a voltmeter with periodic checking to help determine battery SOC and overall condition.

Yes slides can require a lot of power. Even when plugged into ac power some converter systems might not be able to provide sufficient power if the battery is in poor condition.

Charge the battery or try plugging into your yow vehicle with the engine running and see if that will move the slide.
