This is true. Another way to look at it; if a 6v cell dies-you will know right away and can pursue (warranty?) replacement.
If a 12v cell dies you may not notice the degradation in performance for a long time.
When was the last time you had a cell die (in an AGM battery)? (discounting wet cell as anyone can kill those by neglect...)
If you look at how batteries are constructed it becomes clear that 6v are true deep cycle, 12v...eh...not so much. 12 v battery design began life as starting batteries. 6V have always been deep cycle.
The delta in plate thickness 6v vs 12v will result in more life cycles...which is what you want for house (coach) batteries.
Now I am not running 6v yet...but it looks like I will be soon.If you like to boondock,not run a genny, and really depend on your house batteries (that's us) then I can see an advantage to 6v.
