THE "SIMPLEST" BY FAR METHOD: USING THE NEGATIVE WIRE, CUT IT AT SOME POINT JUST OUTSIDE OF THE BATTERY BOX. DEPENDING UPON THE SIZE OF THAT WIRE GET AN INSULATED MALE & FEMALE BUTT CONNECTOR, STRIP THE ENDS OF THE WIRE & CRIMP THE NEW CONNECTORS ON. IT MAKES FOR A SIMPLE CONNECT / DISCONNECT
When you connect to your trailer and drive away, you have no emergency braking system since the (-) phase has been interrupted.
Is there a law that requires a battery at all? Ive got to say that if the hitch and safety chains both fail it is doubtful that those brakes will have much affect on the mess that will insue.
