Many times the fuse holder self-destructs due to corrosion. They are not made out of the best of materials.
I like to coat exterior electricl devices with an anti-corrosion grease. I coat the fuses prior to installing in fuse holder.
i coat lamps prior to installing in sockets to prevent the same problem.
