I am a newbie and thanks to you folks have been doing well so far with your advice. I purchased my TT in February and so far have been able to maintain things including the batteries. Now I have sold my home and am living in a condo and my TT is being parked at a storage facility about 1/2 hr from here. Rules are such that I cannot work on the trailer here or there. There is no shore power at either place so wondering how others manage to maintain batteries.

Disconnect they will be fine for months. Or, you could install a solar panel to keep them topped off and provide some power when camping without hook ups.

If you go the disconnect route,make sure they are fully charged. Better yet, unhook the battery and store at your condo if your planning on storing it for several months so you can maintain battery.

Since my switches are inside the RV water leakages is not an issue. However Blue Sea do make excellent products.

DO NOT buy the cheap red key type switches, they leak water and fail quickly. I had two fail in one season. Get a quality switch like Blue Sea.

Good advice here.

Long term.....take it out and fully charge.
Short term.....disconnect after fully charged.

I use the 100 amp/ 1000 amp contacting version from Napa. I'm sure it is available cheaper elsewhere.
