Yes, please do. It’s much better to have a real number than to rely on a light that may or may not actually mean anything meaningful.
Lights have their uses. A test light tells you that current is flowing, while a voltmeter only checks for the presence of voltage. I have seen bad connections show proper voltage on a meter, while not flowing enough current to light a test lamp.
