New trailer, new batteries. I have 2- 6 volts in series. Any suggestion on the switch type an how to wire the switch in to work. Suggestion on securing batteries without taking home while in storage...

Put the switch in the positive line and connect the breakaway switch to the battery prior to the disconnect. By doing that the breakaway system will work regardless of the switch position.
