BD20 in 6.7 Cummins

07' Dodge Ram manual says NO fuel over 5 percent Bio-Diesel. Favorite station in SoCal has now put an orange sticker on the pump notifying fuel contains up to 20 percent biodiesel, and have noticed the stickers on a few others recently.

The question is:
What are you other DODGE owners with non-fleet trucks from 2007.5 thru 2013 doing in regards to using this fuel?

What mods have you done to your truck to get by on BD20?
No mods and been using BD20 intermittently for years / or using it all the time? ...wanting to hear from you.
Thanks

here is what my manual says:

"A maximum blend of 20% biodiesel meeting ASTM
specification D-7467 may be used with your Cummins
diesel engine. (Pickup models and Chassis Cab models
    configured with B20 Capability.)"

    You have a 2017.
    OP has a 2007.5

    Different critters......2007-2013
    Chrysler states NO

No joke...that is why I said my manual :)

The 2013 trucks have improved filtration to handle the B20

here is what Cummins has to say https://cumminsengines.com/biodiesel-faq

    Nice link.....good info

But one has to weed thru it ALL to come to the right answer

Is B20 approved for the RAM Turbo Diesel?

Cummins approves the use of up to B20 in the RAM trucks for municipal, government, and commercial fleets only. This applies to selected model year vehicles. Please consult Chrysler for specific requirements and approved vehicle models.

    That means NO

The following is straight from 'Owners Manual'

    NOTE:
A maximum blend of 5% biodiesel meeting ASTM specification D-6751 may be used with your Cummins Diesel equipped vehicle.

    That means NO
  • DONT use that junk in your present Cummins!!! Don't listen to anyone who claims you can do some little mod to make it alright either.
  • I do know that if you don't drive the truck every day and let it sit for any length of time, like a month or more, B20 is bad ju-ju. B20 has a bad habit of growing algae when it sits (been there and did that) with my farm tractors and pickup and the repairs can be very expensive, not just new fuel filters, but things like injectors and pumps. I stay away from B anything. B stands not for Bio, it' stands for BOGUS.

But you live in Kalifornia so be it as it may, you might be stuck with it. Guess maybe it's rime to move elsewhere....
