Becoming a Full Year-round Camper in Upstate NY-need advice?

I go up to the Catskills with a friend to check on his family's hunting cabin. This cabin is a mile deep into the woods. The only means to get to that cabin is snow shoes or snowmobile. No quad, side by side, k2500 sub, k1500 sub. Whatever could not make it back there. There is 4 feet of snow on the ground all winter.
