Becoming a Full Year-round Camper in Upstate NY-need advice?

I think some of the overall concern in this thread could be summarized as follows - Is this approach worth risking your life for?

Even if it doesn't get to that extreme, you'd be at risk of having to abandon this "residence" if you can't overcome the challenges. Then where would you end up?
