We just bought our first TT and some of the maintenance/supplies we had no clue about were:
Roof conditioner
Rubber conditioner (on super slide)
Winterizing (may not be an issue for you in CA)
De-winterizing
Grey Tank/Black Tank chemicals
the need for "special" toilet paper
sewer hose
power adapter
chocks
Not sure in your area, but here in the Midwest there is an RV/Outdoor Living show somewhere nearby most every weekend this time of year. If there any close by you be sure to attend and spend time looking at what features might be your needs/wants/loves/hates. That gives you a starting point at least if you're not familiar with what is available. Once you have a good idea, and you know what you can tow, start stalking websites for nearby dealers, Craigslist and any Buy/See/Trade Facebook groups.
I knew what I was looking for and found the features I wanted in a 2003 Fleetwood Wilderness 27H for about $9,000 at a nearby dealer. It had been taken care of very well by the previous owners. We can't wait for Spring to get here to get some use out of it!
Good luck in your search!
