If you have time, spend some time talking to others at campgrounds. Most of all your folks in RV's will be glad to give you advice, suggestions etc. If you are buying used, check out nada.com for pricing info so you know you getting a decent deal. make sure you check tire wear and damage on the underside. check around the outside areas for any potential leak areas and if you see patches all over the roof and extra caulking around windows etc, it may have hidden water damage. Stay away form those, hidden damage can be expensive in the future and have an impact on the structural integrity of the unit. Check out all the components inside and make sure they work. Take someone with you that you are comfortable with that is familiar with stuff. double check the weight rating sticker on the driver side of the trailer and make sure you understand loaded and unloaded vehicle weight ratings. Be carful of a salesman that is not looing out for your interest. With all this said, it may be beneficial to go to a dealer for a used unit, get some warranty, etc. Check out a weight distribution hitch for sway and load distribution. I use the Equalizer II, go online and check out their video, it is true. I could go on and on, but !!!!! Good Luck & Be Safe ! ! !
