I signed up on here just to say don't go to berryland in hammond to purchase anything ! I was dealing with them on a travel trailer that was supposedly red tagged and their lowest possible price ... Welll after a miserable experience with their sales staff I went to primeaux in carencro . I bought the same exact trailer in carencro for $2500 cheaper and way way way better interest rate on the financing ! It only took me 3 hours to get the deal done compared to three days of getting the run around and terrible service from the salesman at berryland ..

Sounds like you need to thank them... If they hadn't giver you the ole run-a-round you'd never gone looking for a better deal. I'd send them a "Thank You" card

Maybe the price the they gave you is the best price THEY could do. But remember without proft you do not have dealerships to purchase from. But just to bad mouth a dealer because you didnt like the price doesnt make them bad. You dont go to work for free do you? Why should they.. Now if you said they didnt take care of the RV they sold you or etc. You may have a point.

CarJocky , 3 days of runaround and higher interest rate is a legit gripe.

The dealer gets paid on the higher rate. If you do not like the rate just move on. If you do not like the price, again just move on. Just like if you are looking for appliances. As for the best price if it isnt what you would like to pay go somewhere else. But they disclosed what the best price THEY could do on the red tag and told them that. Now if the interest rate was also to high go to the bank yourself or maybe try a credit union. Now if there is more to the story I may understand but from what the OP posted it is that they didnt like the price or the interest rate so they are bad people and dont buy from them. Not a legitimate excuse.

When I buy a car/truck/camper, I always shop around. Mileage to the seller is no issue. I get the best price and then start a price war with the different sellers. Who ever gives the best deal on the unit and financing gets my business. No need to bad mouth the highest seller just brag about the good deal and where you received it. Word of mouth is the best advertisement.

Yeah tomg2 the first day I went was to look at a trailer they had posted on their site and I even called to verify it was still there and I drove two hours to go check it out .. When I got there we couldn't find it and they said dang we already sold it .

I agree. That is bad business. I am in sales and we always put in our disclaimer "please call for availability before stopping out". Because what you looked at today and will purchase tomorrow someone may have looked at yesterday and is going to buy today.

I agree totally that the dealer is not obligated to lower their price just because they "should". My problem with Berryland is that I went out of my way to visit their business only to discover that their "Internet" advertisements were misleading. The salesman finally admitted that some of their inventory was of the phantom variety. Offering a low price on an item not in stock is easy to do. Might even be called "Bait and switch"?

I recently purchased a 2009 Flagstaff HW27SC from Berryland. I was very pleased with the sales and service staff. I had some issues that were not obvious at the time of purchase. Most were repaired without charge and in a timely manner. One item, fresh water tank ruptured, was replaced at their cost and no labor charged. The personnel were frindly, courteous, and very willing to help. I will recommend them and will do business with them in the future.

Bought my 2014 Columbus fifth wheel from Berryland. I got a good price (trust me I shopped a lot) and the one time it needed service to adjust a slideout was a good experience. I would buy from them again. There may be more than one side to this story. I can't imagine 3 days. Once I make the decision, it was couple of hours at most.

Everybody has a reason for joining the forum. Mine was to find an rv. Many others have a complaint. May not sound legitimate to some but to the poster it was. If a person doesn't agree, say so and move on or skip posting a comment.

The OP may help others in making a decision before purchase or at least giving them a heads up on what to expect.

Bought my first TT from them. Good customer relations, priced right. I have absolutely no complaints. Would buy from them again.

Welcome to capitalism.

I agree you shouldn't have an ax to grind because you found out someone was higher priced or not offering a favorable of finance terms.

What kind of work do you do -- certainly doesn't sound like your income is dependant on the profitablity of a business.
