If you like that model, I think you'd like the Outback 298RE even better. It's almost the same type of floor plan with rear living, center kitchen, front bedroom. Bath is on the opposite side with a walk through also, and a hall outside the bathroom.
The Outback 298RE floor plan has not changed in several years now. It's becoming an ever increasing popular camper, I'm seeing more and more of them on the road and in campgrounds.
Check out this video: Click here.
And of course the Keystone web site: Keystone RV
Click on the Travel Trailer tab, select the Outback, then drill down to the 298RE for more info.
We've had ours for 4 years now and absolutely love it. The floor plan is so convenient, and the rear living with wrap around windows on opposing slides is magnificant. We did not get the dinette, we got the free standing kitchen table and chairs, which we removed and put in a real couch, on wheels, that turns to face the rear window (and directly in front of the television.) We love ours.
I love the way the TV drops down behind the fire place , yet hate how your would end up with a sore neck after a while if you decided to watch a full movie & have to be with your neck at about a 60 degree angle the whole time.
I suppose you could each ( if two people ) sit on the opposite side of the room & sit at an angle.
But that is not too comfy after a while either.
it was 2 years before our grandkids realized our 295RE (298RE w/o bedroom slide) had a TV. We don't watch TV much but to watch TV we just move the two recliners into the living area in direct view of the TV. pretty quick and easy to do
Nice thing is with the TV down and the big windows on each side, we can get some fantastic scenic view in many places we camp. Nice to get up in the morning, brew a cup of coffee, and enjoy Nature from inside the trailer.
Ideally the TV would be on a swivel stand, but oh well.
We look at every RV show to see if there is another trailer we would trade the 295RE in for. Never have found one.
We've logged about 25K miles on ours, and use it about 3 months/year for the last 7 years. Amazing how well everything is holding up especially with grandkids running around.
Only thing DW and I wish is that the living area was vinyl not carpet.
One of the best features is what you can access with both slides in. Fridge, microwave, stove, counter, dinette, bathroom etc. everything needed for a rest stop and lunch, and many a time to make for a quick start in the morning just pull the slides in the night before and ready to go in the morning.
We have seen some layouts that are roomy and nice, the realized with the slide(s) in what you CAN'T get to. to many you can't get to the fridge, microwave, stove, sink and sometimes even the bathroom with slides in.
