If that park water supply spigot is community property and not an on-site tap then sure there is ... it's inconsiderate. I've done this rarely and only if the tap was right in front of our site and only because I connected to it with a quick disconnect fitting so if someone else came along wanting water I could instantly disconnect to allow them to do so.

I like the way that you mention it being inconsiderate to hook up to a community spigot and then explain to us that you have done it but for some reason its okay because you have a quick disconnect LOL. If its a community tap it doesnt matter if its close to your site or not - dont hook up to it like its yours, pretty simple.
I agree, but at least I'm man enough to admit it ... are you? :W I can recall just 2 times I've done this but when I did I stood right there at the tap and in fact did disconnect the one time when someone else wanted to fill a bucket. With a quick disconnect it was simply a matter of turning off the water flow and pulling my hose off the quick disconnect so the other person could fill their bucket. I have however seen on
many occasions others run hundreds of feet of hose from their camper to a road side tap, turn the water on, then disappear back to their site ...
that's inconsiderate. :S In reality I rarely source water from a roadside tap but instead collect it in bulk at the potable water tower located at the park dump station with a set of 7 gal Aquatainers that live in my truck while we're camping.
