That's generally true as some "non-purchase" dealers put up barriers (long wait times) in front of doing warranty work for trailers they didn't sell.
Jayco has a 2-year warranty. They'll also actually talk to you and send you parts. Keystone will not send parts and the conversation will steer you to a dealer.
Grand Design seems to have turned around - I've read about them straightening out dealers that incur big service times for non-purchase RVs. They seem to also be willing to discuss non-dealer service. Their full warranty is 1 year, with structural going out to 3 years. Full direct factory support.
When you shop for a dealer - shop the reputation of the service department. It's actually more important than the reputation of the sales guys..
