That same site of jdpowers had the new 6.0 PSD ranked number 1 in reliability back in 2004 also based on the good ole 7.3 :W Cover blown IMO. And just to add to it, itguy actually listed CR as a viable resource in rating trucks :B
Maybe Turtle can help me out with a link here as I'm currently rolling around on the floor laughing at it guy's comments.
Did they really? cause it was Wards that our the 6.0 on their best engines list. And JD Powers never says anything about individual engines.
Again, I'll take long term dependability results where almost all of them say the same thing over some guy on the internet that quotes allpar.com.
And this will blow your mind - if you want the most dependable truck, you probably should buy a GM according to those charts. - blofgrenExplorer

I wonder if the year over year drop for Ford is folks taking a wait-and-see attitude on the aluminum F-150? I'm intrigued by the increased payload and tow rating gained by the reduced weight. I'm not due a truck so I don't have to be a guinea pig. If it sells, maybe they'll go to that in F-250. I've seen rumors of that for 2017.
They just recently got the other (Kansas City) plant online. They are selling every 2015 F150 they can make almost immediately. They are supply constrained and that should ease.
What is nice to see is Ram finally taking the backseat with sales declining YOY. Back in 3rd place where they belong. Same story from them - subpar vehicles.
That's funny; there are a lot of the new F-150's on the lots around here. Not saying they aren't a good selling truck but they aren't selling almost immediately like you claim. BTW I drive a 2012 F-150 as my work truck and love it.

Ford has so much brand loyalty with their trucks. I know a couple of guys that bought the 6.0's and got burned by them and got little to no help from Ford dealers and they still would never buy any other truck.
Not me; I guess I broke the mold after owning Fords for 20 years :B - 45RicochetExplorer

Well Sir you are in the EXTREME MINORITY with those statements. But hey everyone can have an opinion.
Those that track long term dependability (JD Power, Consumer Reports, etc) put Chrysler vehicles a the bottom of the list for reliability. So it's not just my opinion.
Ram finally stopped bringing up the rear but it will be interesting to see if that trend continues, I doubt it. Fiat/Chrysler doesn't know quality.
LOL
IIRC itguy is a ferd guy. That same site of jdpowers had the new 6.0 PSD ranked number 1 in reliability back in 2004 also based on the good ole 7.3 :W Cover blown IMO. And just to add to it, itguy actually listed CR as a viable resource in rating trucks :B

Technically, their chart is incomplete.
The Chevrolet Colorado had sales increases of 330,950%.
The GMC Canyon had sales increases of 243,300%.
I guess those numbers did not fit in the chart!
That is just because the comparison is not meaningful due to the base year. - DadoffourgirlsExplorer

Fla-gypsy, Got it. I thought perhaps my third grade math lessons of addition had let me down. I guess if you add all 4 GM product lines together they are out selling Ford volume wise but thats across two different market segments. I see, there is some twisting and turning of numbers there.
Are you forgetting the 450-550 that GM doesn't offer which are certainly included in Ford's numbers? What is there to twist? This argument is about as retarded as the Chevy and GMC truck sales numbers must be kept separate. GM built a midsize pickup and the numbers in which it sells contribute the total number of pickups sold. If Ford doesn't like it, they can build one as well, and it's numbers would count toward total number of pickups they sell.
KSSS, you are true about the F450. That is still called a pick-up. The article is based on P/U sales. I found and article that does state Ford considers the F450 when built with a boxed bed with tailgate a P/U. So yes they include the F450. Don't know how many.
I am pretty sure that the F550 counts in Ford's F series sales, even though it may not meet the strict description of what a pickup is. I think it would be the same as any F350/3500 that is sold with a pickup box delete. It is really still a pickup and certainly counts in every OEM's pickup sales even though it doesn't have pickup box. - Cummins12V98Explorer III

They must be the best because they sell so many. :B
Yup.
