Dad,
Is that 17mil number for ALL manufactures combined?

Until you said dad I never read his forum name as "dad of four girls". I always read it as "daffodil girls". Funny how the brain works. Plus I must skip over the signatures as I read. - DadoffourgirlsExplorerThe GM press release stated that Fleet sales were 21 percent, down 6 points from year earlier. If applied accross all models, it would explain the decrease in the Silverado and Sierra.
- DadoffourgirlsExplorerYes, 17 Million is for ALL manufactures all vehicles (Cars, Crossovers, Light Trucks, Med Trucks, Heavy Trucks) combined.
- blt2skiModeratorDad,
Is that 17mil number for ALL manufactures combined?
Marty - dshelleyExplorerEvery month, same thing. Someone posts the sales numbers for the previous month, which on absolute month by month only basis, means very little, and everyone runs to the closet for their cheerleading skirts and pom poms, then heads for the keyboard. Predictable, but entertaining.. As previously mentioned, who cares which one sells the most. That should have little if any impact on a reasonably intelligent person's decision. What's encouraging is seeing those overall numbers increase from last year.
- DadoffourgirlsExplorerMarty - we continue to be lucky that the experts predict over 17 million vehicles will be sold in 2016. That is good for the banks, dealers, car washes, oil change locations, accessory sales, etc.!

So GM sold more trucks than Ford...by a pretty significant margin. If my math is correct GM Sold 7,475 more trucks than Ford. Not bad at all.
Really looks like Ram got smoked in sales...GM sold nearly 30,000 more trucks than Ram...
Looks to me like the multi truck platform strategy is working for GM in pure sales volume... at least this month.
Maybe I look at things different but isn't the point to sell the most trucks? GM wins.. hands down.
Thanks!

Sweet...as a Ford man..I really don't know what to say...I'd like to thank the Forum...
It's actually just an observation and simple math...GM sold more trucks.
Thanks!
Jeremiah - Grit_dogNavigator IIHaha yeah, with the longevity and cost of new trucks, especially diesels, combined with the low sales years a few years ago, used inventory stinks right now and high used prices reflect this.
Well on its way to being a better balance of new vs used on the market. This is a good thing. - 45RicochetExplorerSo why should Fred Diaz be worried Troy?
Strong gain for Nissan. Of course really only one way to go from last years numbers. - Fast_MoparExplorer

Have not looked at the numbers, BUT, at the end of the day, if the numbers for ALL are up. Celebrate folks, quit arguing! we could be having numbers like in the late 0X dates! Folks being laid off etc........

I agree, it is good news overall that sales are doing well for everyone. I was surprised to see a reduction in sales for the GMC Canyon. That is a nice truck. Colorado sales are up, though.
