Best tire replacement of GY st 225 75R 15

Brought new to us trailer home (2013 model) last Fri. Slowly working my thru items important to us.

Got our tire gauges and air compressor and noticed even though Good Year is marked on side wall they are made in china. There are a few things that I spend the money and get top of the line. Tires is one of them.

What is the best replacement for GoodYear st 225 75r15 (most heavy duty, biggest payload, most margin of safety, etc)

(info on side wall)
5 ply (2 poly, 2 steel, and 1 nylon)
Load range D
Max load 2640 pds @ 65 psi.
(Made 08 week of 2012)

Manufacture dry weight 6,088 on paper only. Haven't weighted it yet but wouldn't doubt close to 8,000 pounds after it gets loaded.

(Think I have room for 16 inch and don't mind going to LT or whatever load range. Just don't want any tire problems.)

I use the Good Year LT G640 "G" rated tires and have had good luck! My 5th. wheel weighs 1250 fully loaded.
  • LT = worry free.

Been there, done that, got the Marathon tread-tossing tee shirt. I'll never own a set again.
