Best tires for a dually

Jus wanted some input on best tires for my truck it's an 07 f350 cc lb drw
I have a 4k lb truck camper and also tow my dads fifth wheel (about 11k) as well as our boat and other trailers hauling what ever I need lol. The truck runs pretty much loaded all the time, very few miles empty most of the time it's hauling or towing something.

My current tires are Hankook Dynapro ATM I don't much care for them they are developing splits in te sidewalls and show a lot of dry rot not sure how long or how many miles they on them as they were on the truck when I bought it a little over a year ago

    X2
  • I'm gonna go by a tire store today and get some prices I really like the look of those Toyo Tuff Dutys and they have about 2/32" more tread than the BFG A/T plus they are supposedly engineered for diesel trucks that tow/haul. I've always had good service from BFG tires on previous vehicles but i dont really need that agressive of a tread pattern even though its not that rough this my first dually so I figured I would ask and shop around. Definitely gonna consider the Toyos now.

Gbopp, I found the date codes on my Hankooks they are 0709 so that means they were built February 2009 which makes them 5.5 years old. So after all I guess that aint too bad considering there age. The sidewall splitting just showed up on the inner duals a few months ago
  • Let us know what you put on your dually and how they compare to the Hankooks, other than the splitting. :)

I'm replacing the Hankooks on our Southwind soon and will look at all options.
  • Toyo Open Country HT Tuff Duty 50% at 20,000 miles most of that was hauling camper
  • I just put Toyo Open Country HT Tuff Duty tires on my truck. Unfortunately I cannot provide any feedback on tire life as they only have 100 miles on them.
  • Thanks for the help guys I was leaning towards the BFG's my brother runs em on his single wheel truck and he gets about 50k miles to a set but he's meticulous about keeping them rotated and proper air pressure in them which I know helps a lot.

I will have to check the date codes on my Hankooks. i like the ride and the low noise of the Dynapro's plus it's the inner tires that are splitting, but when I say splitting I mean two inch cracks every 4 inches around the side wall I might try to post some pics tomorrow, it's like they've been ran under inflated but I've always kept the pressure up on em
  • I have no recommendations on tires for a dually.
However, what is the age on your Hankooks?
Many forum members, including myself, use Hankook on our RV's and are very happy with their quality and performance.

  • I don't have a dually, but on all my pickups in the past I ran Goodyear and BF Goodrich and got great wear out of them, my favorite all around tire is the BF Goodrich All Terrain TAs. My brother-in-law runs Cooper tires on his SWR and has had good success with them.
