I have used many Carlisle tires and all were the old technology and never had a blowout with them or any other tire… as a matter of fact I still have some Carlisle tires on a utility trailer…
The only problem trailer tires I have ever had were, OE Duro Radial that had 3 sidewall bulges within months (all caught before blowout)…
I have also read and studied the ST tire and its controversies for a long time now and have read thousands of testimonials from many web sites for many years now…
So while I personally have not had blowout problems with the Carlisle, Good Year, or Tow Max tires I have used already, the only ST tire I will use on my TT today is the Maxxis M8008…
Maxxis is the company that decided to build the better trailer tire without regulation requiring it,
Maxxis is the company that started using a cap ply on trailer tires because they knew how important the cap ply is to radial construction (of course all of tire companies knew this same fact, but cheeped out)
Maxxis was the company that built the better tire because they wanted to not because of competitive pressure…
it should be flattering to Maxxis that a few other tire makers are now going to try to follow their lead in superior tire construction…… It’s not flattering though, because it is only the way they should have always been built… it’s a disgrace that others did not use them, and got away with it…
When it comes to selecting a ST trailer tire for my RV( under 10,000 pounds), My choice today and into the foreseeable future is the Maxxis M8008… their distribution problems are only secondary to their quality to me…
It’s a choice between Maxxis the industry leader, or the other builders that are trying to catch up…
YORY TRAILER, YOUR MONEY,YOUR TIRES, YOUR CHIOCE… CHOOSE WISELY…

Thanks for cheerleading Maxxis. Maybe they will give you a free trip to Thailand to see how their tires are made! You pointed out some historical facts regarding Maxxis-First this, first that, etc., I don't know how many of us consider these items important when making a tire purchase.
Those who have purchased tires other than Maxxis have usually saved money buying over other brands. This is not because (other brands) are an inferior product, but resulting from Maxxis having to be ordered through a "middleman" distributor.I am sure Maxxis is a great tire. BUT, they are not the only choice out there NOW when it comes to quality constructed TT tire.
