The truth of the matter is that there are now several tires that have similar construction like the brand mentioned. Look for a tire with the nylon cap. These Include Carlsile Radial Trail RH (do a search they are getting good reports). I installed 4 Carlise RH in Florida, and they went up the East coast to Maine-then back across the U.S. to Utah WITH zero issues.
The Maxxis tires distribution network seems to be "limited".
Yes, the 14" tires do not at this time have the Nylon cap.
