The XPS ribs are the only LT tire Michelin recommends for RV use other than truck and bus tires but I haven’t seen any references to trailer use, if it’s there… only RV…

An E-Mail another member got on Goodrich says,
We do not recommend using light truck tires on trailers that specify ST tires. If the trailer manufacturer calls for ST tires, it is important to replace with ST tires in order to maintain the load requirement.

We no longer manufacture ST tires, and the Vanco line is not a suitable alternative.
We would recommend searching for a dedicated ST tire line.
There are no recommendations or terms of endearment of any official capacity on the company web sites or in their catalogues that I can find… remember we are talking TT’s that an overwhelming majority fall into the light duty category of trailer, under 10,000 pounds…
None I have contacted in the past years have recommended the LT tire and none has ever even suggested a LT tire to me…
So basically it is clear that these guys duck and hide and fail to accept responsibility or liability for anything like this… these are big boys well educated and still for the most part can not stand up and give a straight answer to the questions I asked…
I find nothing in the warranties that includes trailers or trailer use and being silence DOES NOT MEAN INCLUSION…
More important is this warranty provision and in all of the warranties in some fashion that makes these e-mail responses pretty much just words on the screen in the real world anyway…
What’s not covered, exclusions, and limitations are painted with a very broad brush but not this…
