14 inch Tow Max do not have the nylon cap. Only 15 & 16" tires.

After reading this entire post, I went out and checked the tire pressure on my TT. All 4 tires were down about 15 psi. I set them at 50 psi, which is stated on the sidewall as maximum cold tire pressure.
Congrats-You won't have any issues if you keep them under 65mph.
On another note-I have never seen anyone in a campground pull out a pressure gauge and check their tires before heading on to the Interstate. I am wondering if they are the same ones exceeding 65mph too?
You gotta be kidding. I check my pressures before leaving home. If the tires can't maintain pressure for the duration of my trip.... I NEED better tires.
That is akin to checking your tire pressure daily before going to work on your commuter vehicle.
Then I guess your TT tires must be immune to getting something in the rubber and having a leak develop...... you usually don't have too worry about a tire taking out the whole side of your tow or passenger car...generally speaking. I AM NOT KIDDING!
You are correct in that a tire may get something in it... But the reason you don't have to worry about this on car/truck tires is that they are BETTER tires!!
They actually have to pass more stringent govt. tests... Including a demanding under inflation test. So most leaks on P/LT tires are discovered visually, or from feel (pulling)!
And that is why ST tires usually come apart when they fail and cause the sometimes massive damage.
Go back in this thread and actually read the difference in testing requirements between ST and LT tires... It is a night and day difference.
Better tires is my solution.
Your talking old product now. The new Carlisle, Towmax (most sizes) Westlake tires and others all NOW have nylon caps that help deter the tire coming apart.
If you reread my post I said "most sizes" in the Towmax have the Nylon cap.
