Well the placard is the minimum specification for a tire , you can always put on a better tire , as far as weight capacity , and speed capacity . You may want to read the owners manual for your TT , mine specs either ST or LT tires .The originals were ST , I upgraded to LT
Mine says ST-Having just completed an 8,000 miles trip across the USA with no blowouts or flats on ST tires, your going to have a hard time convincing me I need something better.
That wasn't the question.
But thanks for answering it in a roundabout way.
You DO think that LTs are better.
And I'm good with you saving some coin, so long as the ST tires are working for you. If you ever start having trouble, you know that there are options to upgrade.. Hopefully your STs hang together and don't cost you a LOT of money if they fail.
I'm not the only one on this board that's stays under 65mph, checks pressure on a regular basis, and doesn't curb hop, thus no issues with ST tires.
Come out to AZ next July....We'll go towing in 115+ heat.... No curb hopping, speeding or underinflation needed....I'll buy the beer.:B
Towed through Wyoming at 95 degrees-no problem! If 115 degrees is that bad there must be all kinds of TT pulled over on the shoulders on your highways. It's funny-been to Mesa twice and haven't seen it!
The KEY IS TO KEEP AT LEGAL SPEEDS (or 55mph) IN EXCESSIVE HEAT!
