A Jeep Grand Cherokee with either V8 or diesel would be another option. I personally would not choose a V6 Tacoma, and I have towed a 2700 lb TT with my Highlander V6 for thousands of miles. The Tacoma's V6 is not that much more powerful, and towing double the weight would be a real drag in the mountains.
