Best Ultra Light?

Our family is upgrading from a pop-up to a travel trailer. We would like something that we can easily tow with our 2010 Jeep Wrangler Sport. Judging by everything we have looked at, we probably want to keep the dry weight around 3,000 pounds or under. Anyone have suggestions on what we should look at?
  • Before anyone can give you a real answer, you need to get all the numbers that beemerphile listed.

You're answering a question the OP didn't ask. Right? But to get in on the game, this source shows some models of 2010 Jeep Wranglers that have a tow capacity of 3500 lb. Why not give the OP the benefit of the doubt that he/she knows how to research his/her vehicle?

  • You say family. Be aware that all passengers and gear in the Jeep must be subtracted from the tow rating.

What is the tow rating of the Jeep?

What is the payload of the Jeep?

What is the estimated weight of all gear and passengers in the Jeep?

I don't know what your numbers are but I suspect 3,000 dry is too much and you may be very miserable towing a TT with your Jeep.
  • Seems to me quality is lacking in so many RV's. I have noticed CAMP LITE all aluminum camp trailers. Might be worth a look. Best of luck.
  • The Jayco SLX models are in that range. Two year warranty, low prices, good quality, big dealer network. Look for things like tires. My 195RB has Goodyear tires and a spare.
