Best wax and way to wax front of faded fiberglass TT?

We have a fiberglass travel trailer we just got, its a year old but the front cap is fiberglass and its faded. Is this something we can do ourselves, wax and bring back to life? What is the best way to do this? Just the old fashioned wax on and off method? What wax would do this best? The entire camper is fiberglass. Should we do it all now?
  • I wash our trailer periodically but I'm admittedly lazy when it comes to waxing it. :) As it sits on my driveway during the hot summer months the front and curb side are exposed to the direct rays of the sun for the entire day while the rear and street side are always shaded. When I have managed to talk myself into waxing it I've used Nufinish Car Polish and although this trailer is a 2014 built in 2013 I've noticed no deterioration of the finish - seems glossy to me and the decals are holding up just fine. I guess Nufinish must work. :)

Its not faded badly, its just that it has some oxidation really from sun. its really more at the top. we are out of warranty on the trailer. its a 15 model so really 2 years old sorry.

2015 models would have gone into production in the spring of 2014 so this trailer could easily have been sitting in the sun for 3 years.
  • Use Meqiires cleaner wax. It will take off some oxidation and leave and leave a nice shine
  • Look on you tube, people are using a ZEP floor polish and doing several coats.
  • I used the Protectall products when I did our MH. I used the oxidation remover and then the wax-

If your cap is faded after just one year then your cap is defective. Generally buffing it out won't last. If you're still under warranty then try and get it painted. If not then waxing it will only give short term gratification as the fade will slowly return.
What brand is your trailer? And what color is your cap?
  • You might try a product that's for removing oxidation first, then follow up with a wax.
Or you could just have it painted. We had ours repainted with an epoxy paint and the reuslts are gorgeous and very tough.
