Best Xmas gift for a new "trailerer"

My husband told me today that for once, he knows what he wants for Christmas: A generator or a roof-top solar charging system. (I started to say "solar system," but while the smaller planets are probably affordable, Jupiter would break us.)

Obviously, the gift won't be a surprise, but given a choice between the two, which would you choose, and why?
