So... Does your two wheel drive have a locking or limited slip rear end? If not, I would consider adding one too. Otherwise, I would consider studded snow tires and lots of weight in the bed.
Glad to hear you only lost 1 mpg....I would be going from an E tire to an E tire, just changing tread design.
I have also heard the stories of 70,000 miles of treadware, and fing it hard to believe on a 6500 pound truck...ha
A few folks have said that the ko loses traction as it wears, but it seems that every tire I ever owned was that way.
