I have been running BFG's on a 2500HD Duramax for the last 80K. This pickup pulls a Toyhauler year round full of very expensive gear inside. I had a full set BFG's on 5 years ago. I now take rotate the front tires to the back and put new on the rear every year. When these are new, I have not found a better tire on ice, which is our biggest issue here and for what we do with this pickup. Cutting through deep snow they suck, which doesn't apply to you in a 4X2. I run Hankok and Kelly TSR's on other pickups. Each has its pros and cons. The biggest issue I see with the BFG is they don't last long, and they are not a great snow tire if you find yourself off road, but kept in its element, they are tough to beat. Perhaps only a dedicated winter tire such as Nokia would be better. The Happolitta (sp) is an amazing dedicated Winter tire. Had a set on my wife's duramax and now on her Lacrosse. If you slide in those tires, you probably should not be on the road.
