BFG All Terrains KO2 PSI

I have 35x12.5 r18 BFG KO2 load range E tires on my truck. They state max load 3400lbs at 65psi.

Anyone else carrying at TC with load range E tires that go to 65lbs and not 80lbs? I figure just follow the specs on the tire and call it good.
  • I have had decent luck with wear. The sidewalls compress a bit more then I expected with the TC. I am using a Lance 865 which I know is heavy. Just want to make sure the tires are dialed to minimize risk of a blow out.

Any one know what tire temp is when bad things start to happen? I can get the surface temp a time or two during the drive. Or just touch them and make sure you can keep your hand on them with out hurting your had. Going to be a warm weekend here... 100 degrees+.

  • I used to have BFG KO2 load range E tires on my truck but they didn't wear very good at all. I ran them at the stated pressure.

I now have Hankook Dynapro AT-M LT265/70R18 in load range E on my Tundra. I run all four at 70psi. Working very well for me.
  • My brother in law has the E rated 35's on his 3500 Ram Diesel and was surprised to find that they were only rated for 65psi..... As much as I love the KO2's the 35's have not been a very long lasting tire on his truck.. I am running KO2's on my F250 (285-70-18 @ 80psi), so far they are wearing great, no issues at all.
