I am on my second set of BFG Commercial T/A tires on my 5th wheel. I've been pleased with the tires but I have just experienced two thread separations on my current set. The DOT date of manufacture shows tires to be about 4 1/2 years old, and I was getting close to putting on a new set. Now I'm concerned if this is still a good choice.While they are not the quality Of Michelins, they have always seemed to be a good choice for the money. Have the quality of these tires changed?

Need more info. Size of tire and axle weight rating. Lots of good choices.

That is about the time frame I got from a set I bought in September 2009. Saw the bulge while camping one weekend. At that point in 2013 I chose Bridgestone Duravis R250's. They have 4 years on them now, I hope to get 1 more before replacement. But 2 of those BFG's are still running on the front of a friends F350 farm truck

They had a recall around the time you got those for the seperation issue. B.O.

I ran two sets of the BFG Commercials LT215/85-16 E that were bought before the big recall in the 2012-2015 era. The first set ran for 55k+ miles and the second set ran 50k+ miles. These tires were bought before that problem ara. BFG did a redesign on them and now their a Commercial T/A2. 2015 recall2012 recall See your BFG or Michelin tire dealer for all the info.

Sorry........axles are 5,200 lbs. Trailer weight is 8,000 lbs empty.

Tire size is LT225/R75 16"

Doesn't matter what kind of tires they are. 4 1/2 years is running on borrowed time. Tires used on RVs rot much faster than tires used on just about any thing else. Why? Because they sit, and when they sit, they rot. Rolling oils tires. No rolling, no oiling.

I'm considering replacement of TAs on my 5er, they are 09 build date and have been around the West. Still look great.

Also have BFG on dually with no issues.

You admit your tires are inferior. I would go with the Michelins and be done with it.

I never inferred BFG Commercial T/A's were inferior. I simply stated I had had trouble with 2 tires, and my OP was seeking advice as to if this is a pattern with others who have owned the tires.

If I thought this brand/type were inferior I would have never initiated a thread. I would have just purchased another brand/type.
