Big Thank You to TIPPY TOE RV/REPO

Arrived at the campground today & no power at my site. Owner came & changed breaker ...power. As I was checking my 30 amp power cord I noticed a burnt (shorted) out place on the female plug that attaches to my TT. I plugged in the camper & started the AC. Came back 20 minutes later and checked & that one area was very hot. I decided to get a new plug.

I called & then visited Tippy Toe RV/Repo in north Myrtle beach hoping they had a new female connector. They did not BUT the owner said I could get a new cord one out of a new unit he has for sale & I could just pay him for his cost. After the office lady called cost was $69.xx. That was what they charged me. Owner said he was wanting to help since I was 3 hours from home & 92 degrees. I have never been to his business but he was kind enough to help. I guess this was a situation I was at his mercy & he could had charged any amount he wanted but he simply said "pay what it would take me to replace it".

Sorry so long but I wanted everyone to know there are honest folks.

Now I am sitting here freezing in my TT. Thank you TIPPY TOE RV! I will use these folks in the future.

Guessing your were at Myrtle Beach Travel Park? You just missed me by a few days. Those Tippy Toe guys look like they run a nice operation, and I've heard good things about them from other people as well.
Did you notice Camping World is trying to get in on the service business out there now too?

  • Address and phone number would be good for this place should anyone in the future needs them...
  • Be sure to tell the RV parks in the area about this great business, and it also helps to post a positive review on Yelp. Whenever we get good service, that's what we do. Hint -- when you post on Yelp, try to include a tiny bit of negative info -- like "great service, but their parking lot is a little tight for big rigs" or whatever. That way, the Yelp algorithm won't swallow your glowing review -- Yelp is on the lookout for phony good reviews.
  • MB is one of our planned stops, did you stay at the park with the water park inside ?? If so how was it ??

  • I'm glad they treated you right. Good stories are always pleasant to hear.

I too have had several good experiences with RV parts providers,
AND also, a couple of ripoff's that I could not avoid.
Most of the time, we do get along together OK!!
THANKS!! to the GOOD GUYS!!! (Tell us when you find one.)

I will give kudos to country roads rv in Lexington NC. We recently had our awning take flight from the wind. Luckily dh had forgotten to tighten the arms so they separated instead of bending. We lucked out and the only damage was the awning had pulled out of the track as well as a small tear in the awning. The foot where it attaches to the trailer wall was cracked as well. We were trying to sell our tt so we wanted to repair it quickly. We called around to multiple local dealerships. Some could not get us in for weeks. Some refused to even give us what their hourly rate was. They quoted us their hourly rate and said they could get us in the next day. They offered same day service but due to my work schedule, I planned to drop off and come back in a few days. We got there 30-45 min prior to service closing for the day. They immediately had a tech look at it and offer a solution. They said they could repair it right now if I was willing to wait. We shopped for a new 5er while they worked on it. They didn't page us when done but rather stayed late waiting on us to finish looking at trailers. We noticed the time and went to check on the tt 15 min after closing time. It was ready and the service manager was in His office patiently doing paperwork waiting on us. They had fixed the awning issues and had a part to fix our fuse panel door (something we knew we needed and could fix yourself). We were out the door within an hour of our arrival. They charged us $65 for everything. That was less than half their hourly rate. To say we were impressed and grateful would be an understatement.
  • What a nice gentleman. One good deed deserves another....Remember his kindness by yourself helping someone out when the time arrives.
  • Great to hear....let's support this kind of business.....
