All my weights and measures were without the 30# steps that attach to the rear bumper, that has to effect the COG!
Rumor has it that 295/70-18 will fit the newer Silverado/Sierra. This tire is rated 4000#+ vs. the OEM 3500#er. So today or shortly expect to install this tire and give a little bit of cushion til I decide wether to go dually.
But looking at the manufacturer weights, and considering mine is 900# over what they estimate it should weigh, because of OEM spray on bed liner, gooseneck ball setup, camper tie downs, running boards, full fuel.
And carrying that 900# over to the dually gasser and diesel with crew cab, of course my single cab srw 1 ton is over--
the GMC CC DRW 6.0 gasser with 10.4 weight would be 12,225# with a GVWR of 13,020#.
the GMC CC DRW 6.6 diesel with 10.4 weight would be 13,056# with a GVWR of 13,020#.
So a 1 ton DRW could conceivably be not enough truck for a 4000# camper considering GVWR although GAWR of the rear axle might be ok. The above figures were using the new Bigfoot 10.4 of 4083#, with water, gen set, battery, and no rear steps and nothing else.
Just something to chew on.
