You guys with the 1 ton duallys, how do you like the handling?
I am still on the market for a bigger truck then my 1 ton srw and haven't decided whether to go 1 ton or the bigger 5500 series dodge, or wait and see if Chevrolet comes out with their medium duty truck.
I love it. Night and day difference. I had a 2016 Ram 3500 SRW 4X4 CC long bed diesel and made maybe 6 or 8 trips with the Bigfoot. I added the Hellwig Bigwig sway bar and it helped.
When I traded for the dually equipped exactly the same it was much better. I took the Bigwig off the SRW and put it on the dually. It actually fit much better. No more white knuckle moments. Much less stress.
This is my first dually. No real problems as a daily driver. As before, I park far out in store lots. Small issue with some drive up ATM's and fast food drive throughs. Just have to remember those big hips are back there.
Difference like Impala vs. Corvette. - MarcelaExplorerYou guys with the 1 ton duallys, how do you like the handling?

I'll have to put that on my list of places to go to, Sango :) Your new rig looks real nice.
Just don’t blink when you’re looking for it. :B.
Thank you. Hopefully we can get together sometime soon. - GoinThisAwayExplorerI'll have to put that on my list of places to go to, Sango :) Your new rig looks real nice.
- TxGearheadExplorer IIMy Bigfoot front legs barely, and I mean just barely, clear the dually fenders. Maybe 3/4", probably less. The tailgate opening has about the same clearance per side. I think the one door clearance issue is the result of the camper being loaded just a bit sideways. After putting a 2x8 across the front of the bed I'm good.
I had a 2016 RAM SRW previously and just loaded the camper however, not too precisely, no problem. The tailgate opening dimension change surprised me.
I just have to load more slowly and carefully now. - Camp_woofExplorerHi Sango,
Zero trade-ins, will get new truck then camper in late May, maybe June after I quit working! Planning on full-time till (or if) I find a place I want to settle into more.
Reading this forum since 2014, I'll go dually (and 4WD) just like you! Diesel, because well I can and then if I did want a small wheel some day, the truck will still work for that.

Hi Sango,
I have a deposit down for the Bigfoot 10.4 from Apache camper in Portland ... will pick up end of May.
Question, your passenger rear door not opening, is that with the new Ram or your older one? And you use the fastguns? My eyes aren't good enough to see photo that clearly ..
Not sure why I'm leaning to Ram for the truck, my impression is you can get them for a little less than the Ford or Chevy. I wonder if I can or even want the new 2019, or get what should be a deal on the 2018!
So, I will definitely have the same camper as you and likely about the same truck!
Dave
Sent you private message - SangoExplorerIt did it on both trucks. More so on the 2007 when we picked it up. Of course all you have to do is swing dually jacks out so really not an issue. We just favor Ram trucks. Our 2018 handles the camper without any issues. Really happy with it. Did you work with Chuck at Apache. We found the camper online and then drove from Texas to Portland to trade in our 2014 Arctic Fox 1150.
