- Camp_woofExplorerHi Sango,
I have a deposit down for the Bigfoot 10.4 from Apache camper in Portland ... will pick up end of May.
Question, your passenger rear door not opening, is that with the new Ram or your older one? And you use the fastguns? My eyes aren't good enough to see photo that clearly ..
Not sure why I'm leaning to Ram for the truck, my impression is you can get them for a little less than the Ford or Chevy. I wonder if I can or even want the new 2019, or get what should be a deal on the 2018!
So, I will definitely have the same camper as you and likely about the same truck!
Dave - SangoExplorerLol. Thank you.

Yup, I cleaned up the thread. The pic you posted is now in your original post and I also increased the width. - SangoExplorer

I had seen where the large eyebolts were used. Hopefully no worries of them shearing off.
I'm not worried about the eyebolts themselves, they are 1/2" with a shoulder against the camper tie down eyes. But I am concerned about the side pull effects. The eyebolts extend the Fastgun attachment points outward about 1.250". Bigfoot was fine with it so I guess I should quit worrying. I'll see if the Torklift extensions with 1" more clearance will be enough by themselves and maybe take the eyebolts off if they are.
I assume you have the rear bumper/step on the new Bigfoot. Do you need an additional step/stool, or is the factory step good enough to get in the camper? - SangoExplorerI had seen where the large eyebolts were used. Hopefully no worries of them shearing off.
- TxGearheadExplorer III'm using 5/8" plywood cut in 4 pieces to completely cover the truck bed. Then a truck bed mat over that. Been working OK so far.
After talking to Bigfoot about the Fastgun clearance issue they said it is OK to use heavy duty machinery eye bolts to move the camper attachment points farther out. Also Torklift suggested drilling another hole in their extensions to move them out an inch. My last trip I used both. Next time maybe just one or the other and see if it works OK. - SangoExplorerWe can open the driver side rear door but not passenger side. Go figure :h May have to add to the front guide.
- SangoExplorerWe already had a mat but did add a 3/4" horse stall mat. We bought two and cut them out to fit the full bed of the truck. They only come in a 4x6 size that we could find. Then we laid the truck mat on top to help keep the two pieces from sliding apart if the camper moved any. My DH built a guide for bed also to keep camper from shifting side to side or even forward. When we bought the camper in Portland Oregon we brought it back on our old 2007 Dodge and it shifted where the tiedowns rubbed on the fender. We also bought the TorkLift anchor relocation kit.
