There was a problem on early 4600 series with the lower rubber bushing mount on front shocks . I called Bilstein and they sent out 4 new shocks no questions asked , except for receipt ,and didn't have to return old shocks .
I spoke to both the marketing and technical departments at both the California (Poway) office and the NA HQ in OH a few months ago, and was told that there might be old TC valved stock in the market, but they were no longer manufacturing new 4600s with special TC valving (due to low sales and stockage issues).
They also said they had complaints about the truck being severely overdamped (on compression) when unloaded (with the additive effect of a heavy spring pack and heavily damped shocks).
As I mentioned earlier in the thread, they will custom valve 4600 shocks for you if you still feel the need for the heavier damped shocks.
This is what I was told at least...
As far as your warranty issue, it's also been my experience that Bilstein has fabulous customer service.
