black seal creep in Bigfoot camper

I'm looking to buy a used camper. Found a bigfoot looks good except the owner listed this: "The only negative is the camper glass has the black seal creep inside the double pane windows. The windows themselves are sealed and have no leaks. Bigfoot had some years where this was an issue and verified that the window is not prone to leaking with the seal deformed."
What do you think its a 2004 25c9.6

  • The rubber seal between the two panes of glass migrating, or moving out of place is not unique to Bigfoot. Check the forum for Fogging double-paned windows.
There are do it yourself kits available to rebuild the window, the windows must be removed, repaired, resealed and replaced. Not a big chore if you are handy and have a place to work out of the weather.

I had the windows of my 2004 Bigfoot TC repaired last year at the RV Fog Doctor in Searcy, AR. They did quality work, and service all types of RV's, I parked in the shop next to a couple of high-end Class A DPs.
In my case, the seals still functioned without leaks, but I didn't like the look and didn't want to wait to see if a leak developed.
  • Contact Kent Miller at Sunview Industries, the window manufacturer. He can answer any concerns you may have

  • All of them have promoters. If I wasn't happy with a camper, I wouldn't have it.
Are you saying the black creep is between the glass, around the edges? How much? 1/16" or 1 1/2"?
  • Any picture?
Big Foot has lobby of "promoters" on this forum, so take all the replies with big grain of salt.
Not that does not apply to different subjects, but IMHO this is good sample where "Advertisements overcomes common sense"
    Good luck camper shopping.
  • Depends on the price. If it is a good price and you can live with the creep and it is not effecting the performance then go for it. If it will bother you then don't.
  • Get em while they're hot. :). Well there aren't that many used Bigfoots for sale from what I understand. If it is a good price, probably worth it.
