Black water chemicals

On my last TT I used to have smell problems and I used Pine-Sol to help cover it up. On this new TT I don't seem to have any small problems so I just use lots of water and leave it alone.

As far as chemicals, I dont see any one brand or type better than others. Downtheroad has it right, use lots of water. One thing to concider with smells is, they dont always come from the throne. I have encounterd many a nastsy smell from sinks. Keep water in those traps, especially after towing even the shortest distance. Dry traps will cause quite a smell.

Mostly don't use anything here in the cool Pacific NW. In hot weather I use the Thetford formaldihyde stuff, haven't found anything else that works worth a darn.

I don't use chemicals.........hate the smell of 'perfumed' poop.

Water is your friend.

We have tried many chemicals and always to back to Camco TST green. We buy it at Walmart. We also use their gray tank lemon scented. Sometimes the gray tank can smell worse than the black!

I use a version of The Geo Method, but no bleach.

X2. A little pricey, but good stuff and no formaldehyde in it. I also toss a scoop of Oxychem in the gray tank if we're dry camping.

Whatever is available where ever we are when we need it..Whatever Walmart has....or none at all.

The best stuff is lots of water. I have used a ton of different ones and they all seem the same.

As a fulltimer going on 7 yrs, I mostly use just water and flush the tank well after dumping. Sometimes, if I know I won't be able to dump for several weeks, I'll add some Rid-X.
