I feel for you. I just had to make a decision to repair my '05 Ford F350 with the "dreaded" 6.0 diesel. I don't know GM products, but everyone convinced me to repair rather than replace it at 193,000 miles. If similar to Ford, the newer GMs will be even more complicated and more expensive to repair than earlier model years.
