We just had a similar incident happen a few weeks back. On a trip from the Twin Cities (MN) down to Tennessee. Out of three trucks hauling two RZR's each. One duramax pretty close in year and mileage spun a bearing and lost oil pressure within a few miles of our final destination.
With the help from some locals a shop was located and a used engine tracked down. They wanted 10K for a used engine and 5K for installation. Multiple options were discussed. But in the end they left the truck got a ride home and returned on a rescue mission to drag it back to MN. Where used engines were much cheaper!
