Yeah I've thought about a gasser, but I've been spoiled by the power of the diesel. That silly grin factor when some goofball tries passing me on the right and I stomp on it and leave him in a cloud of dust... I don't do that too often, but once in a while it feels good!
But putting the child in me aside, I do tow a lot, go through the mountains a lot and frequently haul a lot of weight. I hate being down into 3rd gear at 5 grand trying to get up a hill. You know the feeling, your Cummins could pull over a house!
The fuel economy in my truck does not vary a lot from loaded to unloaded and I can easily sail up mountain grades with the cruise on. All that is worth it to me.
Yes you pay more for a diesel but I have always maintained when buying something, "You only cry once".
