I’m saying this because A Cummins is likely to cost a lot less for a rebuilt to drop in your truck. Being that old you have a wide choice, I’d go older.
I know it sounds crazy, but sometimes when your stuck ,you have to think out of the box. If you need more info PM me.
As much as I respect the Cummins and recognize what an awesome powerplant it is, I'm not into that kind of swap for my truck. If I put an engine in it it will be another LBZ bolt in from the boneyards.
The cost of the swap would exceed the value of the truck.
I'm at an age where I prefer newer and stock.
