No, not with the big split in currency values recently. 30% disparity in the dollar value, about the same in US vs CDN prices.
But that same price difference was in effect even when the dollars were closer to par.
Canadians have a 70% higher debt to income ratio and always have had a somewhat higher ratio. No way that's attributable to Canadian stupidity vs US. I firmly believe there are more financial idiots in the US!
Bottom line, cost of living is significantly higher in Canada vs income. I've worked for Canadian companies for most of my career and the proof is, a lot of Canadians want to transfer to the US. No one here wants to go to Canada. Plain and simple.
