Do trucks cost all that much different between the USA and Canada ? Out the door, tax paid, registered and on the road? Once you take the manipulated currency exchange into consideration?
It has always been my observation and belief that given all variables, such as the dollar difference, vehicles cost more in Canada
Bob...can I call you Bob? Lol
You live in Calgary. The economy is not great there. That said, trucks still look 'spensive from a quick kiiji search. Couple options, some searching should net you with a decent deal. Take a while to find one. We just searched 2 months for a car down here before finding a "deal".
Get a line on oilfield trucks. Alot of high hour JUNK, but when I was in the oil patch I saw some good ones go too. That might be a depleted source now that oil price has been in the tank for a while.
Lastly, you want the top of the line new diesel, loaded, but aren't willing to spend the coin to get there. based on the picture in your sig, any well equipped 1/2 ton would provide good duty for towing that trailer and the price of admission is waaaay cheaper. Even 3/4T gas is easy 10k less right off the top.
Bottom line, just like the other comparisons here. We are getting/paying for alot more truck than in the past. If you want the "best" it will cost more money. Even trucks with the same capabilities. Take a stripped down Tradesman Ram. Still got AC cloth seats, cruise, backup cam, bluetooth, etc. Theyre $25k less than a loaded Limited truck.
